Recently I, along with my daughter, had the wonder and pleasure of experiencing Sunday Champagne Brunch at the Mission Inn.    This was my first time and I can tell you I was not disappointed.   It began on my walk in.   Sure, I have been for Christmas but to explore that wonder without the heavy crowds and on a beautiful sunny day was another story.  Flowers everywhere along with Old World charm invite you to come in and explore more.

Through the beautiful restaurant we were led outdoors (our choice) and seated with a view of the fountains and the surrounding buildings.   A man was playing soft gentle music outdoors, fountains flowing and bright vibrant red umbrellas everywhere.   What a treat and were not even talking about the food yet!

Freshly squeezed orange juice, ice cold champagne and water are abundant and overflowing.  Our waitress, Tamara, was not only attentive but kind and engaging.   She shared the Mission Inn’s history with us along with pamphlets to take home.    We were well tended to the entire time we were there.

They had a fresh fruit and cheese section, another table for salads, a carving station, a seafood section, freshly made waffles with HOT syrup, fresh berries and cream, hot entrees, omelettes made to order.    So many choices- and all of them great!   Now, let’s talk about dessert!  WOW!    They had 3 tables dedicated to dessert and the choices were plentiful.   Big slices, small slices, little bites….anything your heart desires.   Tamara let us in on a secret too!   The Mission Inn has a famous Brioche Bread Pudding – so famous that this dessert had its own table and right alongside the bread pudding is a hot dulce de leche sauce to drizzle all over your dessert.  One word- YUMMMMMMM!!   Is that two many ‘M’s’?   Maybe but it was that good – reminded me of a decadent French toast.

I know I wasn’t the only one enjoying as I watched others enter with the same expression I must have had.   I saw families celebrating, baby shower groups, bridal showers.   It was such a beautiful day and the perfect place to enjoy it.
