Those hot days of August are upon us -- and we're loving all this time outside with our kiddos! But it also feels like summer is drawing to a close, with the start of a new school year just around the corner. World Breastfeeding Week
World Breastfeeding Week, supported by UNICEF and the World Health Federation in more than 120 countries, was created with the goal to provide support for breastfeeding moms everywhere. Aug. 1-7.
Join us in celebrating world breastfeeding week at the Big Latch On as we build a community of support and normalize breastfeeding as part of everyday life.
Global Big Latch On events take place online and at registered locations around the world. Breastfeeding women gather together to breastfeed and offer peer support to each other.
Their friends, family, and community join these celebrations to promote and support breastfeeding.
Volunteers from within the community host each location, hosting a
Global Big Latch On event creates a lasting support network for the community.
At exactly 10:30 AM, babies around the world will latch and be counted to set a new world record.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Day
Today we raise a glass of milk to Ruth Graves Wakefield, the inventor of the chocolate chip cookie. She made the first batch in 1938 by chopping up pieces of a Nestlé semi-sweet chocolate bar and mixing them into her dough. Aug. 4.
National Night Out
National Night Out is a night for community building. Aug. 6
The Corona Police Department invites you and your neighbors to a National Night Out (NNO) on Tuesday, August 6, 2019. This year’s event will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on the City Hall South Lawn, located at 400 S. Vicentia Avenue.
Celebrated annually, National Night Out is part of a community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships as well as neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods a safer, better place to live.
The community is invited to meet and greet with the K-9 Unit, Mounted Unit, Forensics Team, Raider, and other members of the Corona Police Department. Kids can enjoy a free fun zone with jumpers, snacks, and face painting! Dog owners can check out dog vendors, a dog play area, and meet adoptable dogs. Stop by to learn safety information and purchase refreshments from local food vendors!
