1. Get ready for some football!

3. Interview grandma and grandpa 

Grandparents Day is the perfect day to for kids to "interview" grandma and grandpa and learn some interesting facts about their lives! 4. Participate in a community volunteer project

Sept. 11 is a somber day in American history. The federal government now recognizes the date as the National Day of Service and Remembrance and urges all Americans to organize volunteer projects, support charities, and perform other good deeds and acts of kindness to help others in the spirit of remembrance, unity, and service. It's the perfect occasion for your family to find a community cleanup, organize a sock drive for a local shelter, or simply take a neighbor some homemade cookies. Sept. 11

5. Let the kids cook!
